my first pair of shoes for 2010

i may be a little margiela obsessed lately but by all means im no label whore! (arguably)

last week, after receiving my margiela book i was feeling inspired to track down a pair of margiela shoes. for the last couple of years, i have been OBSESSING over some plexi-glass sandals they released and surprise! i found a pair on ebay!! i almost vomited on my laptop from excitement as i rarely find shoes i LOVE in my size (size 35 are hard to find!) so here they are, my first pair of shoes for 2010.....another addition to beloved clear accessory (and shoe) collection.

last night, tadzio and i had dinner with our good buddies chris and elke, they have been away over christmas and new years so we were delighted to catch up with them for a bite to eat at sopra!

finally, my maison martin margiela book arrived today!!! the book is a mini archive of his work from the past 20 years, visual overload! the packaging in which the box arrived in is very margiela-esque don't you think?

i love the industrial feel to these jil sander heels, i can see myself in a black shift dress with these shoes....

i NEED these acne wedges! i don't ask for much in life, just when i find a pair of shoes i fall in love with i can buy them in my size, i have been searching for months and i can not find these in a size 35 ANYWHERE!!!

these dries van noten woven leather booties are so cute! they kinda remind me of 1920's gangster meets a wicker chair...you think? mmmm...maybe not.

on the 3rd of january 1905 anna may wong (wong lui tsong) was born in los angeles to second generation chinese american parents. wong was the first asian american to become an international star. during the silent film era, wong starred in the toll of the sea and thief of bagdad. by 1924, wong became a fashion icon and achieved international stardom.

frustrated by the stereotypical supporting roles, wong left hollywood for europe in the late 1920s, wong starred in several significant plays and films among them piccadilly which caused sensation in the uk, her electric and sexually-charged performance was a revelation.

during the early 1930s, wong spent her time between america and europe, wong featured in such films as daughter of the dragon and shanghai express with marlene dietrich.

after world war II, wong spent time in china but later returned back to america and made several television appearances.

in 1961, wong had been planning to return to film with flower drum song, sadly wong died of a heart attack.
